About the Creators

Ben Hatke is the author and illustrator of the New York Times–bestselling Zita the Spacegirl trilogy, the picture books Julia's House for Lost Creatures and Nobody Likes a Goblin, and the graphic novels Little Robot and Mighty Jack. He lives and works in the Shenandoah Valley with his wife and their boisterous pack of daughters.

Dave Ortega makes comics with multilayered narratives about class and cultural conflict, stifled creativity, and lost histories. His award-winning graphic novel Días de Consuelo is a historical memoir about the early life of his grandmother during the Mexican Revolution. The Comics Journal wrote in its review of Dave's one-person anthology series Hacienda, "comic book writing doesn’t get much smarter than this." Dave lives in Somerville, MA.
